Poll Hours and Election Preparedness
Presidential Preference Primary Election
Pasco County FL – Brian E. Corley, Supervisor of Elections, announces the polls for the March 19, 2024 Presidential Preference Primary Election (PPP) will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. for qualified voters. Pursuant to Section 101.021, Florida Statutes, Florida is a closed primary state, which means the candidate choices on your ballot will be candidates of the same party affiliation. The 2024 Presidential Preference Primary has no Democratic, Minor Party, or Nonpartisan candidates. Only eligible Republican voters will receive a ballot.
Some party candidates for president have reportedly suspended or ended their presidential campaigns.
If a candidate did not submit a formal withdrawal before December 12, 2023, in accordance with section 103.101(3), Florida Statutes, the candidate nominee’s name must remain on the PPP ballot for his or her respective party. A vote cast for any candidate nominee appearing on the ballot will count as a vote for that candidate.
Voters may check their registration status prior to voting at PascoVotes.gov and are advised to know their polling location in advance. This information is on your voter information card or online at www.pascovotes.gov/Precincts/Precinct-Finder. Voters are statutorily required to present photo and signature identification when voting or vote a provisional ballot.
Voters may NOT change their party at the polls. Applications for party changes were due in the Supervisor of Elections’ Office by the book closing date, February 20, 2024. Voters who have moved and have not updated their address prior to Election Day should check PascoVotes.gov for their new polling location and allow enough time to update their voter registration record at the polls.
