How to be Election Ready

Registration Status

Check your registration status on-line prior to voting to make sure your voter registration is current.

Confirm your party affiliation.

Florida is a closed primary state. The Democratic and Republican parties hold primary elections which are open only to voters registered with that party.  All voters may vote for any candidate in the general election. The deadline to change your political party is 29 days before each primary election.

Update your signature.

Your signature is important! When you vote by mail, the signature on your ballot envelope is compared to your signature on file. If there have been changes to the way you sign, or if you’re in doubt, please update your signature by completing a voter registration application

Familiarize yourself with the location of your polling place.

On Election Day, polls are open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Use our Precinct Finder to confirm your polling location.

Bring photo and signature identification with you to vote.

Florida law requires two forms of identification at the polls. In order to vote you must present both signature and photo identification.
