Deadline to Register to Vote or Change Your Party Affiliation
for the 2024 Presidential Preference Primary Election

Pasco County FL – Brian E. Corley, Supervisor of Elections, announces Tuesday, February 20th is the deadline to register to vote or change your party affiliation for the March 19th Presidential Preference Primary Election.  

All three elections’ offices will be open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with extended hours on Saturday, February 17th from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and Tuesday, February 20th until 7:00 p.m. at the following locations: East Pasco Government Center, 14236 6th St, Suite 200, Dade City; West Pasco Government Center, 8731 Citizens Dr., Suite 110, New Port Richey; Central Pasco Professional Center, 4111 Land O' Lakes Blvd., Room 105, Land O' Lakes.    

Pursuant to Section 101.021, Florida Statutes, Florida is a closed primary state, which means the candidate choices on your ballot will be candidates of the same party affiliation.  The 2024 Presidential Preference Primary has no Democratic, Minor Party, or Nonpartisan candidates.  Only eligible Republican voters will receive a ballot.  Party changes must be made by the book closing date, February 20th and may be changed online at https://www.pascovotes.gov/OVR or on a voter registration application.  

Voter registration applications may be mailed to the elections’ office at PO Box 300, Dade City, FL 33526 and must be postmarked no later than February 20th.
  
Voters are encouraged to ensure their voter registration is up-to-date, and if voting by mail, that a current signature is on file.  Visit PascoVotes.gov to view a sample ballot, check your registration status, to request a vote-by-mail ballot, access a voter registration application, update your signature, update your address, or view early voting times, dates, locations, and wait times.  

Some party candidates for president have reportedly suspended or ended their presidential campaigns.  

If a candidate did not submit a formal withdrawal before December 12, 2023, in accordance with section 103.101(3), Florida Statutes, the candidate nominee’s name must remain on the Presidential Preference Primary (PPP) ballot for his or her respective party. A vote cast for any candidate nominee appearing on the ballot will count as a vote for that candidate.
