Supervisor of Elections Partners with Pasco County Schools to Sponsor Student Mock Election

Pasco County FL - Brian E. Corley, Supervisor of Elections, Pasco County, in conjunction with Pasco County Schools Social Studies Department, is sponsoring a districtwide student mock election.  The ballot with both the Presidential candidate race and the US senate race is available to over 65,000 students countywide.  Participating students will receive an "I Voted" sticker, and will be able to view the results of their election on the Supervisor of Elections' website, pascovotes.com, after 7:00 p.m. on election day, November 8, 2016.

"We couldn't be happier about our involvement in the student mock election as an addition to our ongoing voter education plan throughout Pasco County Schools," said Brian Corley. "It's never too early to engage our future leaders in the process."

Students cast their ballot using a web-based voting platform known as DoubleClick Democracy which is supported by KidsVoting USA.  Participating Florida State Supervisors of Elections (FSASE) previously used the DoubleClick platform in education programs statewide, and recently joined with Lou Frey Institute (LFI) at University of Central Florida and their Florida Joint Center for Citizenship and the Florida Association of Social Studies Supervisors (FASSS), to unify efforts in providing a statewide student mock election using the DoubleClick Democracy platform.
